Homemade Salsa - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (28 oz.) can diced tomatoes, slightly drained
1 jalapeno with seeds, minced (adjust amount to desired amount of heat)
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced and/or 1/4 c. sliced green onion
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 or 2 Tbsp. snipped cilantro or parsley
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. tomato sauce
Preparation

In a medium bowl, stir together tomatoes, jalapeno, green pepper, lemon juice, cilantro or parsley, garlic and pepper and onion.
Place about 1 cup of the tomato mixture and tomato sauce in a blender.
Cover and blend just until pureed.
Stir into remaining tomato mixture.
Cover and chill for several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Use as a dip for chips or as a topper for main dishes.
Makes about 3 1/3 cups sauce.
