Carrot Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    3 c. grated carrots
    2 c. sifted flour (all-purpose)
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. chopped nuts, dredged in flour mixture
Preparation
    Cream together Crisco and sugar.
    Separate eggs and add to creamed mixture, one egg yolk added at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add carrots, flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and nuts.
    Add flour mixture slowly to creamed mixture. Then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into greased and floured loaf pan (large).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
