Cooked Cake Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk, divided
    5 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. butter
Preparation
    Put 1/2 of milk in double boiler; heat and use other half with flour to make a paste.
    Put paste into heated milk and cook until very thick and heavy, almost like a ball, stirring constantly.
    Let cool until thoroughly cold.
    Put in mixer and add the remaining ingredients.
    Beat until fluffy.
