7 Layer Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rice (uncooked)
    1 c. canned whole kernel corn, drained
    salt and pepper
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 plus 1/4 can water
    1/2 c. each: finely chopped onion and green pepper
    3/4 lb. uncooked ground beef, seasoned with salt and pepper
    4 strips bacon, cut in half
Preparation
    Start heating oven to moderate 350\u00b0.
    Place ingredients in layers in a 2-quart baking dish with tight-fitting lid.
    Layer rice, then corn.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Pour 1 can tomato sauce and 1/2 can water over first layers.
    Layer onion and pepper, then ground beef.
    Pour second can of tomato sauce and 1/4 can water over all.
    Cover meat with the bacon.
    Cover dish and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Uncover and bake about 30 minutes longer.
