Wild Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. wild rice
    6 c. salted water
    1/2 onion, chopped
    1/4 green pepper, chopped
    2 stalks celery
    1 small can mushrooms
    1/2 stick butter or margarine
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    sliced water chestnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cook rice in boiling water for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    If dry before tender, add more water.
    Watch closely.
    Rice should be soft and fluffy.
    Saute vegetables in butter; add to cooked rice, canned mushrooms and liquid.
    Add at least 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and water chestnuts, if you like.
    Cover and heat in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
