Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening (half butter or margarine)
1/2 c. confectioners sugar
2 egg yolks
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. thick apricot preserves
1/2 c. thick pineapple preserves
Preparation

Bottom Layer:
Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix shortening, sugar and egg yolks thoroughly.
Stir flour into sugar mixture.
Cover ungreased oblong pan (13 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch), press and flatten. Bake 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and spread preserves, then with margarine.
Return to oven and bake about 20 minutes until margarine is golden brown.
Cool slightly, cut into small bars. Makes 4 dozen.
