Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. thinly sliced squash
    2 c. vinegar
    ??? tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 heaping tsp. pickling spice
    salt (enough to sprinkle over squash and onions)
    2 c. thinly sliced onions
    4 bell peppers or 1 1/2 c. plus 2 more squash
    3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine squash and onions. Sprinkle with salt and let stand for 1 or 2 hours. Drain. Combine all other ingredients and bring to a rolling boil.
    Add squash and onions and bring back to a rolling boil.
    Make sure all squash is under liquid. Can and seal while hot.
