Oatmeal Crisps Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 c. quick oatmeal
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars.
    Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
    Sift together flour, salt and baking soda; add to creamed mixture.
    Stir in oatmeal and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Form dough in rolls, 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
    Wrap in waxed paper or clear wrap.
    Chill thoroughly.
    With sharp knife slice cookies about 1/2 inch thick.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at about 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
