"Batter" For Shrimp, Chicken Or Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, well beaten
    3 tsp. oil
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    3/4 c. water, milk or beer
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt, beaten egg with oil and water, milk or beer. Beat with mixer until smooth.
    This should be like a heavy cream. Do not add any more liquids.
    Let stand for 1 hour at room temperature.
    Dip meat in batter until completely covered.
    Allow excess to drip off.
    Deep fry in corn oil at 375\u00b0 until golden brown.
    Drain.
