Ingredients

4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1 stick butter
3 eggs
1/4 c. milk
powdered sugar
Preparation

Sift flour and salt together.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs, one at a time.
Stir in flour mixture adding milk; knead gently until smooth.
Roll out 1/3 of dough at a time on lightly floured surface; cut into strips 1/4-inch wide. Then cut diagonally about 3-inches apart.
Cut lengthwise, slit in center and pull one end through to make twisted shape.
Fry in oil a few at a time, until golden brown.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
