Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 c. All-Bran
    1 1/2 c. 40% Bran Flakes
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs, soda and salt.
    Mix flour and brans together in one bowl, mix buttermilk and water together in another container.
    Alternately add dry ingredients and wet ingredients to creamed mixture.
    Add nuts and raisins, if desired.
    Mix well.
    Grease muffin tins or use cupcake papers. Bake in 400\u00b0 oven for 18 to 20 minutes.
    Makes 24 muffins.
