Banana-Nut Party Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 c. flour
dash of salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 bananas, mashed
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. diced mixed candied fruit

Preparation

Cream sugar with shortening until fluffy; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift flour and salt together; beat into egg mixture.
Add soda to buttermilk; blend well.
Add buttermilk and bananas to flour mixture.
Fold in nuts and fruit.
Turn into greased tube pan.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour or until cake tests done.
