Liver And Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef liver
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    3 medium onions, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Cut away tubes and outer membrane from liver.
    Wash liver in cold water; dry.
    Coat with mixture of flour, salt and pepper. Heat cooking oil in skillet; saute onions until transparent.
    Set onions aside and brown liver on both sides (5 minutes).
    Place onions in pan with water.
    Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes.
