Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
6 tsp. baking powder
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
milk (to moisten)
6 to 8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
Preparation

Put all in bowl, except milk and apples.
Cut in shortening like pie dough.
Add enough milk to make soft dough.
Roll out dough on floured surface.
Cut into 8 squares.
Put a handful of apples on each square.
Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon butter.
Fold dough up around apples.
Seal.
Place in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake for 15 minutes at 400\u00b0.
Reduce heat and pour over syrup.
