Plantation Marble Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted cake flour
    2 tsp. Calumet baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Sift
    flour
    once;
    measure
    and
    add baking powder and salt. Sift
    together
    3
    times.
    Cream butter thoroughly; add sugar gradually
    and
    cream
    together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, then flour alternately with milk a small amount at a time.\tBeat after
    each addition until smooth.\tDivide batter into 2
    parts. To\tone
    part add spices and molasses.
    Put by tablespoon into greased loaf pan, 8 x 4 x 3-inches, alternating light
    and\tdark molasses.
    Bake in moderate oven at 325\u00b0 for 1
    hour and 15 minutes. Spread butter frostings on top and sides of cake.
