Chow Chow Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green peppers
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    1 gal. ground cabbage (6 lb.)
    6 lb. brown sugar
    8 onions
    3 bunches celery
    1/2 box whole cloves
    1/2 gal. vinegar
Preparation
    Grind all vegetables; add salt and let stand 1/2 hour.
    Then press dry with hands.
    Get out all the water possible.
    Mix with other ingredients and cook 1 hour or until thick as desired.
    A few red peppers add color and flavor.
