Italian Meat Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. onion slices
    1 lb. ground meat
    2 (1 lb.) cans (4 c.) tomatoes
    1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
    1/4 c. parsley, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 (8 oz.) cans seasoned tomato sauce
    1 1/2 tsp. oregano or sage
    1/2 tsp. m.s.g. (optional)
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.
    Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is thick.
