Never Fail Pecan Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. water
2 1/2 c. sugar (granulated)
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation

Mix sugar, water and syrup in a heavy boiler (double boiler). Bring to a boil and cook until mixture spins a thread.
Pour half of the syrup mixture over the egg whites and begin stirring.
Cook remaining half until it forms a hard ball (crack stage).
Pour this into the egg-syrup mixture.
Add vanilla and continue to stir until it holds its shape.
Add pecans and drop onto wax paper.
