Red Chile Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 white onions, cut into 1/16 to 1/8-inch rings
    3 c. milk
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. cornstarch
    3 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. ground cumin
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. paprika
    vegetable oil (for deep frying)
    salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
    Soak onions in milk in a large bowl for one hour.
    Drain well. Mix flour, chile powder, cornstarch, salt, cumin, sugar and paprika in another large bowl.
    Dredge onions in flour mixture; shake off excess.
    Heat oil in large heavy saucepan to 360\u00b0.
    Add onions in batches and cook until golden brown, about 45 seconds. Transfer to paper towels using a slotted spoon; drain well.
