Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. (2 1/2 sticks) margarine, softened
    3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3 c. Quaker oats (uncooked)
    1 to 1 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Beat margarine and sugars until creamy.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add combined flour and spices; mix well.
    Slowly add oats, then raisins.
    Drop by spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375\u00b0 for a chewy cookie, 8 to 9 minutes; for a crisp cookie, 10 to 11 minutes.
    Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
