Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean beef cubes
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. water
    1 can tomato sauce
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 chopped onions
    6 chopped carrots
    6 chopped potatoes
    1 c. green peas
Preparation
    Roll beef in flour; brown beef in shortening in heavy saucepan.
    Add water, tomato sauce, salt and pepper.
    Cover tightly and cook over low heat 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    Add onions, carrots and potatoes.
    Cook 30 more minutes.
    Add peas and cook until tender.
    Serves 6.
