Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. red chili beans or 1 (No. 2) can kidney beans
1 chopped green pepper
3 Tbsp. fat (bacon grease if you have it)
1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cayenne
1 to 2 tsp. chili powder
1 large onion, diced
2 lb. ground beef
1/8 tsp. paprika
3 whole cloves
1 bay leaf
Preparation

If using dried red beans, soak overnight.
Cook in boiling water until tender.
Brown onion and green pepper in hot fat, then add meat.
Cook 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes and seasoning.
Simmer 2 hours, adding water if necessary.
Add beans; heat thoroughly.
