Scotchies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. shredded coconut
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda and salt.
    Cream shortening.
    Beat in sugar gradually.
    Add eggs and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
    Stir in flour mixture, oats and coconut.
    Drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Remove immediately.
