Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pineapple juice
    1/2 c. sugar
    6 medium Winesap apples
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1 baked pie shell
Preparation
    Bring pineapple juice and sugar to boiling point.
    Add apples that have been pared, cored and sliced.
    Cook slowly, uncovered, until tender.
    Lift apples carefully from syrup and place in a bowl.
    Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons cold water.
    Add to syrup and cook to thicken.
    Return apples to syrup and mix in.
    Add vanilla and margarine.
    Put in pie shell and sprinkle on topping.
