Ingredients

3 c. milk
1/3 c. long-grained rice
1/3 c. raisins
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation

In a heavy medium saucepan, bring milk to a boil; stir in uncooked rice and raisins. Cover.
Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 30 to 40 minutes or until most of the milk is absorbed.
Mixture may appear curdled.
Stir in sugar and vanilla. Spoon into dishes and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Makes 5 or 6 servings.
