Beef, String Beans And Water Chestnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. boneless top round beef steak
    2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 Tbsp. sherry
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. hot chili paste (optional)
    2 Tbsp. peanut oil
    1/2 lb. string beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    2 scallions, sliced
    1 (8 oz.) water chestnuts, drained
    2 c. steamed rice
Preparation
    Cut beef into 1/8-inch slices.
    In a glass dish, such as a 10-inch pie plate, mix hoisin, soy, sherry, cornstarch and optional chili paste.
    Add meat and stir.
    In non-stick skillet, heat oil on high until a drop of water dances on the surface.
    Stir-fry beans, mushrooms, scallions and water chestnuts until tender, about 3 minutes.
    Push vegetable mixture to top sides and stir-fry beef mixture until no longer pink inside, about 2 minutes.
    Mix vegetables, meat and sauce.
    Place in serving dish.
    Serve with steamed rice.
    Serves 4.
