Top-Of-Stove Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. water
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 medium sweet potatoes
    a little cinnamon
Preparation
    Put sugar and water in a frying pan.
    Stir; let it boil 5 minutes.
    This makes a syrup.
    Add margarine and salt; stir.
    Wash and peel sweet potatoes.
    Cut in slices, about 1/2-inch thick. Cut the slices in strips.
    Put sweet potatoes in the syrup; sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium and cook, covered, for 5 minutes.
    Uncover and cook until sweet potatoes are tender.
