Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    3 c. (1 lb.) raw peanuts
    1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Boil sugar, corn syrup and water in large saucepan. Bring to a boil and dump in peanuts.
    Cook, stirring occasionally, until reaches hard-crack stage (285\u00b0 to 310\u00b0). I remove it from the heat at exactly 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer. Dump in butter, salt and soda. Stir a little to reduce foam. Pour out quickly onto greased cookie sheet. Smooth with the back of spoon a little bit. Cool completely. Break into pieces. Store in airtight container.
