Cherry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    juice of 1/2 lemon
    1 medium can crushed pineapple
    2 pkg. Knox gelatine
    1/4 c. cold water
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 small bottle maraschino cherries
    1/2 pt. heavy cream, whipped
Preparation
    Heat sugar, lemon juice and pineapple.
    Dissolve gelatine in cold water.
    Mash cream cheese and cut up cherries until smooth. Mix the gelatine and pineapple mixture; blend in cream cheese mixture.
    Cool until it starts to thicken.
    Blend in whipped cream and chill.
