Canned Beet Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. beets, cooked, peeled and sliced (or left whole if small enough)
    3 c. vinegar
    3 1/2 c. water
    3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Bring to a boil the sugar, water and vinegar in an enameled pan.
    Put cooked, sliced beets in the hot syrup.
    Simmer together for 10 minutes until hot enough to can.
