Dutch Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 apple, peeled and sliced very thin
    sugar, cinnamon and butter
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add egg and beat well.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Pour cake mixture into a well-greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Arrange apple slices on top of dough, pressing sharp edge into batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and dot with butter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 35 minutes.
    Serve warm with lemon sauce or vanilla ice cream.
