Franklin Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. shortening (use 1/2 butter or margarine)
2 c. sugar
6 eggs, beaten
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1 lb. pecans
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs and 3 cups of the flour, sifted with baking powder and salt. Mix remaining flour with candied fruits and nuts. Stir into batter. Add vanilla. Pour into large tube pan, greased and lined with wax paper. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300\u00b0. Let cool in pan before removing.
