Hopkins County Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 1/2to 4 lb.) chicken, quartered and skinned
    10 c. water
    1 stalk celery, hand diced
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 large onion, diced
    3 carrots, sliced
    2 cans Hunt's tomato sauce and bits
    4 to 6 potatoes, cut up
    2 cans cream-style corn
Preparation
    Boil chicken in water with celery and seasonings until tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
    Debone and cut up chicken into chunks and return to sauce.
    Simmer, covered, about 2 hours.
