Chocolate Covered Cherries - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
12 oz. chocolate chips
3 Tbsp. corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
maraschino cherries with stems
3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation

In small bowl, combine butter, vanilla, corn syrup and salt. Add powdered sugar and mix well.
Divide in half and roll into logs.
Wrap in plastic.
Place quarter piece in palm of hand to flatten.
Evenly wrap around cherry to cover.
Place on wax lined cookie sheets and freeze 30 minutes.
Melt chocolate chips and shortening, stirring until smooth.
Dip cherries into chocolate and shake off excess.
Place on wax lined cookie sheets.
Chill in refrigerator until firm.
Serve immediately or store in refrigerator.
