Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    lettuce
    4 green onions
    3 Tbsp. bacon grease
    1/4 c. sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Take any kind of leaf lettuce and tear into small pieces. Fill a salad bowl.
    Cut onions into small pieces with lettuce. Mix bacon grease, sugar, salt, pepper and vinegar.
    Heat these ingredients in small skillet to boiling point.
    Pour over lettuce while very hot just before serving.
    Toss through salad.
