Scalloped Cabbage - cooking recipe

4 lb. head cabbage
1 1/2 c. white sauce 1,341
2 Tbsp. chopped seeded green pepper
2 Tbsp. chopped pimentos
6 slices bacon
2 Tbsp. bacon fat or butter
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 c. or less shredded cheese
Preparation

Shred and prepare by any method for cooked cabbage the cabbage.
Drain it well.
Prepare white sauce.
Prepare pepper and pimentos.
Saute and mince the bacon.
Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Melt bacon fat or butter.
Toss lightly in this the bread crumbs. Place layers of drained cabbage in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with the minced bacon, peppers and the cheese.
Cover with the cream sauce.
Top with the bread crumbs.
Bake about 10 minutes.
