Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 medium sized cucumbers
6 medium onions
1 gal. water
1 c. salt
2 c. sugar
3 c. vinegar
1 c. water
1 tsp. each salt, celery seed, mustard seed and turmeric
Preparation

Slice cucumbers and onions.
Let stand overnight in 1 gallon of water mixed with 1 cup salt.
Drain next morning real well.
Mix sugar, vinegar, 1 cup of water and 1 teaspoon each of salt, celery seed, mustard seed and turmeric.
Boil 5 minutes.
Pour into jars and seal.
The seed may be put into small cloth bags and that way seed are not in the jars.
