Pickle Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    ripe yellow cucumbers
    2 gal. water
    2 c. lime
    3 oz. powdered alum
    2 qt. white vinegar
    2 qt. water
    12 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. pickling spices
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    First Day:
    In the morning, peel cucumbers and cut out seed. Cut into lengthwise strips.
    Cucumbers should weigh 7 pounds after seeded and peeled.
    Soak 24 hours in water and lime.
