Tourtiere(French Canadian Holiday Meat Pie) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground lean pork
    1 lb. ground lean beef
    1 large onion, chopped and sauteed in margarine
Preparation
    When onion is soft, add ground meat and cook until all pink or red is gone from the meat; don't overcook meat, it will be too dry.
    Add salt, pepper and either allspice or nutmeg and cinnamon to your taste.
    Put this filling in a pie plate lined with pastry. Cover with top crust and bake 35 minutes in a 425\u00b0 oven until nicely browned.
    Serve with steak sauce.
