Caramel Corn - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 lb. margarine
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
6 qt. freshly popped popcorn
Preparation

In a 2 1/2-quart pan, combine first 5 ingredients.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Boil rapidly to hard ball stage (250\u00b0).
Remove from heat, stir in soda quickly.
Stir thoroughly and pour over popcorn.
Stir gently until all kernels are coated. Bake for 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times while in the oven.
Turn out onto waxed paper, spread apart and cool.
Store in tightly covered container.
Makes 6 quarts.
