Apple Pie Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. hot water
5 c. diced apples, peeled and cored
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar together; stir in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Stir half of flour mixture into shortening mixture.
Beat in 2 tablespoons of the hot water.
Stir in remaining flour mixture, then the remaining water, beating after each addition.
Stir in apples and nuts.
Spread in two greased 9 x 9-inch pans or 1 greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until sides pull away from pans.
Excellent with vanilla ice cream.
