Batter For Fried Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    3/4 c. water
    3/4 c. plain flour
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Beat egg; add water and stir in dry ingredients.
    Mix well. Dip onion rings into batter and fry in hot deep vegetable oil for 2 or 3 minutes each side until golden brown.
    Drain on paper towel and salt.
    This is a good batter for deep frying anything, especially such vegetables as mushrooms, cauliflower, squash, bell pepper strips as well as shrimp.
