My Best Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg (unbeaten)
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg.
    Mix until fluffy; sift dry ingredients.
    Add alternately with hot water and molasses which have been mixed together.
    Bake in 325\u00b0 oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
