Becky'S Pineapple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. plain gelatin
    2 large (20 oz. each) cans crushed, unsweetened pineapple
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    small amount milk
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Dissolve 1 cup sugar in 1 cup water and bring to boil.
    Set aside.
    Dissolve 3 tablespoons plain gelatin in another cup of water.
    Add to hot sugar and water.
    When cool, add 2 large cans unsweetened, crushed pineapple with juice.
    Fill serving bowl with 1/2 and chill until set.
    Thin 8 ounce package of cream cheese with milk until of spreading consistency.
    Mix 1/2 cup chopped nuts into cream cheese and spread over chilled mixture.
    Add remaining mixture and chill until firm.
