Onion Topped Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. margarine, melted
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
1/4 tsp. dried dill weed
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can creamed corn
1/4 c. vegetable oil
dash of hot sauce
Preparation

Saute onion in butter.
Remove from heat.
Add sour cream and 1/2 cup shredded cheese; set aside.
Combine corn meal, sugar and dill weed.
Stir and set aside.
Combine eggs, milk, corn, oil and hot sauce all at once to corn meal.
Pour into lightly greased 8-inch square pan.
Spread onion mix over top.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
