5 Day Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. glass jar cucumbers
    1/2 c. kosher coarse salt
    8 c. water
    2 c. vinegar
    8 grape leaves
    4 garlic cloves
    fresh dill
Preparation
    Bring salt, water and vinegar to boil and cool.
    Put 8 grape leaves in bottom of jar; add 1/2 the dill and garlic, then sliced cucumbers.
    (I cut mine the long way.)
    Bring salt, water and vinegar to a boil.
    Cool.
    Add garlic, dill and grape leaves last. Fill jar with brine.
    Put cloth over the top.
    Let stand in refrigerator for 5 days.
