Toffee Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 egg
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 lb. chocolate chips, melted
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar well. Add egg and beat. Add vanilla. Stir.
    Add flour and salt.
    Mix. Spread in ungreased 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Spread with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut while warm into bars.
