Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large green tomatoes
    1/2 c. unbleached flour or cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    bacon drippings or canola oil
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes into 1/4-inch slices.
    Combine flour, salt and pepper.
    Dredge tomato slices with this mixture.
    Place in heavy skillet, containing hot bacon drippings.
    Fry slowly until brown, turning once.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
