8 c. flour
1/3 c. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
8 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 c. shortening
Preparation

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Using a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Store in a well-sealed container in the pantry or fridge. When making biscuits, use 1/3 cup milk for every cup of mix.
For pancakes, add enough liquid for the batter consistency desired.
