Orange Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 medium oranges (navel best)
    1 pt. scalded milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
    2 egg yolks
    pinch of salt
    2 egg whites
    2 to 3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Cut oranges into 2-quart casserole.
    Sprinkle with a little sugar.
    Mix the 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Stir into beaten egg yolks and beat until runny.
    Pour a little scalded milk over egg mix.
    Add egg mix to remainder of milk and cook in double boiler until thick.
    Pour over oranges.
    Beat egg whites, adding 2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar and water a little at a time, until stiff.
    Spread on custard and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
